Requirements for Healthcare Professionals
To join the Silkkitie recruitment program for Nurses and Caregivers, you must meet specific educational and professional requirements. Listed here are our general requirements for nurses or caregivers. Opportunity specific requirements might differ!
Education
Silkkitie accepts only healthcare professionals who have completed their studies and can provide a verifiable diploma or certificate and official transcript of records as proof of graduation.
Silkkitie accepts the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Caregiver Certificate including fulltime studies for at least 6 months (OJT counted towards hours of study)
What documents do I need to apply?
To join the Silkkitie recruitment program for healthcare professionals you will need :
- Diploma of graduation and an official transcript of records detailing your studies
- A CV outlining your educational background and professional experience
- Certificate(s) of employment verifying your stated work experience
- A valid visa (minimum of one year) if you are currently residing outside your home country, or proof of the possibility to renew your visa upon expiry
- A valid passport
Health Requirements
To ensure patient safety we require recruits to have the standard adult immunizations and be certifiably medically fit to work before start of work in Finland. These are needed to be allowed to work within healthcare in Finland.
- Adult Immunizations
- Fit to work certificate including a negative salmonella and Tuberculosis (x-ray) result.
Work experience
To join the Silkkitie recruitment program you are required to have at least 2 years of relevant professional and hands on work experience within healthcare.
The following are NOT considered relevant work experience for the healthcare positions offered by Silkkitie:
- Midwife experience
- Administrative
- Nurse Officer experience
- Care work in a non-professional setting
- Nanny experience
- Dental experience
- Dermatology experience
- Cosmetology experience
- Optometry experience
Frequently asked questions regarding our requirements
Q: I have not yet graduated but will graduate within the language training time. Can i already start the program?
A: No. You can only start the recruitment program once you have graduated.
Q: I am waiting to get my diploma issued after graduation. Can I apply with my temporary certificate of graduation?
A: No. You can apply once you have officially graduated and been issued your diploma of graduation.
Q: I have taken care of my elderly family members at home. Does this count towards my work experience?
A: While this is very commendable we unfortunately do not count caring for family members as professional experience.
Meeting the listed requirements does not guarantee admission to the Silkkitie recruitment program. Silkkitie reserves the right to reject applications even if all stated criteria are met. Additionally, any falsification or tampering of submitted documents will result in immediate disqualification from the program and a permanent ban from future applications.
Kindly note that joining the language training program does not automatically lead to employment. A tentative job offer will be extended once you are chosen by an employer. However, you will also need to achieve the required language proficiency stated in your tentative job offer.
